Obituary:
Dale M. Newton

ELBA -- Dale M. Newton, 43, of Elba died Thursday (July 2, 2009) at his home under Hospice Care surrounded by his family and dearest friends.


He was born March 5, 1966, in Batavia, the son of Mary Fugle Newton of Alexander and the late John A. Newton.

Dale loved life, spending time with his family during many family vacations and at their cottage on Rushford Lake. He enjoyed watersports and snowmobiling. He was a 1984 graduate of Alexander High School. He was a well respected craftsman; he worked at Ben's Appliance and Kitchen Sales and Service in Batavia for over 22 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Teresa Almeter Newton of Elba; three children, Bradly and Katie Newton of Elba and Kenneth Almeter of Alexander; a sister, Jan (Philip) Gaudy of Batavia; two brothers, David Newton (Kathy Acquard) and Johnny (Marcy) Newton, both of Alexander; his father-in-law, Kenneth Almeter (fiance Sue Diebold) of Attica, and mother-in-law, Sharon Almeter of Alexander; three sisters-in-law, Ann Marie (Mark) Loranty of Attica, Carolyn (Steve) Loranty of Alexander and Joann (David) Graham of Bethany; his nieces and nephews, Jeremy (Jennifer), Jason (Amy Whitmore) McClellan, Jennifer, Mandy (Chris), Casey, Nick Newton, Jordan, Miriah Gaudy, Andie (God Daughter), Lynzee, Vincent Loranty, Jaylin Neamon, Cassidy, Chase Graham; great-nieces; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Attica. A Celebration of Life will be held at the family residence at a later date with the date and time to be announced.

Memorials are requested to the ''Newton Children's College Education Fund.'' Send to the attention of the family.
