Paul Newman

Paul Newman (shown here on the cover of People magazine in 1984) starred in "Harry and Son", a not-so-great '84 movie with Robbie Benson.
He had other really good movies in the 80's:
1981- "Fort Apache the Bronx" and "Absence of Malice" (Newman was Oscar-nominated for Best Actor, Sally Field was Golden Globe-nominated for Best Actress)
1982- "The Verdict"(Newman was both Golden Globe and Oscar-nominated for Best Actor and the film was nominated for Best Picture)
1986 - "The Color of Money" (Newman won the Oscar for Best Actor and was nominated for a Golden Globe)
1989 - "Fat Man and Little Boy"

Check out these and other great Newman films like "The Sting", "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", "Cool Hand Luke", "Hud", "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof","The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean", "The Towering Inferno", "The Hustler", "Slap Shot", "Mr. and Mrs. Bridge", "Nobody's Fool", "Road to Perdition" and most recently the animated movie "Cars".
What a career!

Newman donated more than $250 million to charities through profits from his Newman's Own brand.
He was married to Joanne Woodward for 50 years!
